Day 1 Oporto
Upon arrival at Oporto airport meet and greet by local representative. Oporto is rich with well-preserved treasures, including monuments in the Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Neo-classical style. Day 2 Oporto
Breakfast. Explore the picturesque and historic city of Porto at your leisure with a ticket that gives you access to 2 sightseeing bus tours for 2 days. You can hop on and hop off at any stop in the city, taking in attractions such as the Avenida dos Aliados and the neighborhoods of Santa Catarina and Batalha. Located in the north of Portugal, the city of Porto has a rich history that dates to the Roman occupation of Iberia. This is a notable port city, situated on the estuary of the Douro River, where the river meets the Atlantic Ocean. You can also hop off the bus in the city's oldest district, Ribeira, to enjoy a traditional Portuguese lunch in a quaint cafe nestled along the city's medieval walls and discover Porto's famous wines. Your ticket gives you access to the cellars of Cales Calem, where top quality port wines have been produced since 1859. You can also sample some of the goods, including white, dry, and ruby ports. Once you have seen Porto on dry land, you can take the Douro River Cruise to see it from the water. This is included as part of your tour package and gives you a chance to admire the city from a comfortable river cruiser as you drift down the Douro under 6 of the city's bridges. Overnight in Porto.
Day 3 OPorto/GuimarÃ£es/OPorto
Breakfast. Guimaraes is an exceptionally preserved and historically significant Portuguese city. Often referred to as the birth place of Portugal, this must-see destination enabling tourists to explore the country's past and marvel at the origins of its architecture. Return to the hotel.
Day 4 Porto/Lisbon
Breakfast. After check-out, make your way to Oporto train station. Train to Lisbon. Enjoy a comfortable trip surrounded with beautiful Portuguese landscapes. Arrival to Lisbon train station. Lisbon is an illuminated city. The almost constant presence of sunshine and the River Tagus transforms the Portuguese capital into a mirror of a thousand colors - highlighting the cityâ€™s unique architecture and beauty. There are so many things to see and do in Lisbon that visitors have access to a wide array of different experiences. As we walk through Lisbon - whose history spans back thousands of years â€“ we find streets filled with heritage monuments, and characteristic neighbourhoodâ€™s where the city first developed and can still be experienced at its most genuine level. Make your way from Lisbon train station to the hotel.
Day 5 Lisbon/ Sintra / Cascais/ Estoril / Lisbon
A few hours to discover Lisbon, first of all we will visit the Belem quarter where you will find the most beautiful and historical monuments from the 15th and 16th centuries. A brief stop at the Belem Tower (Torre de Belem) - World Heritage by UNESCO - , point of departure of some of the Portuguese maritime explorations; and on the Monument to the Discoveries (Padrao dos Descobrimentos), built to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the "death" of Prince Henry the Navigator. Then we visit the Church of S. Jerome Monastery (Mosteiro dos Jeronimos) - World Heritage by UNESCO - a masterpiece of the "Manueline" style. Along the river we arrive at Alfama, an old and traditional district, where we will have the opportunity to walk in its narrow streets. Then we will pass by the downtown (Baixa) to admire the most important squares of Lisbon such as the monumental Trade Square (Praca do Comercio); Rossio Square, the heart of Lisbon and the symbolic Restauradores Square. Then we drive along the Liberdade Avenue, the "boulevard" of Lisbon, to finish at Marques de Pombal Square, admiring the statue of the 18th-century Portuguese statesman responsible for Lisbon reconstruction after one of the most deadliest earthquakes in History, the 1755 Lisbon Earthquake. Free time for lunch. We invite you to discover this charming region and site of the royal family summer residence. We will spend some free time whether discovering the handicraft stores or the famous sweets of Sintra. We then head onto Cabo da Roca (the most westerly point of Europe) before continuing along the coast, passing by the famous Guincho beach until arriving at Cascais. Highlights of the town include the Boca do Inferno wave feature and the magnificent panorama over Cascais Bay and the adjoining coastline. On the way back to Lisbon, we pass by Estoril, home to the famous Casino and its lovely gardens.
Day 6 Lisbon / Fado & Tapas
Morning free for some last minute shopping. Come evening itâ€™s time to enjoy the most charismatic Fado districts of Lisbon: Mouraria & Alfama. Experience the sweet taste of Lisbon's favourite liqueur in a local Fado tavern. Learn the history of Fado music; from the taverns to the Noble Palaces Admire the sunset from the hill of the Castle. Wander through atmospheric Alfama at dusk. Enjoy a rousing Fado performance in a old Palace Tantalise your taste buds with delicious dinner of Portuguese tapas and wine. Overnight in Lisbon.
Day 7 Lisboa
Breakfast and check-out. Transfer to Lisbon airport. End of our services.
